Dear Bruin Community:
In light of UCLA Chancellor Gene Block’s plans to step down at the end of July 2024, UC President Michael V. Drake, M.D. has announced the formation of a search advisory committee to support the international search for UCLA’s next chancellor. President Drake will chair the committee, which is comprised of UC Regents, university faculty, staff, students, alumni and UCLA Foundation representatives.
To ensure the search advisory committee is well informed about current campus issues and priorities, and has a chance to gather feedback on qualities the next chancellor should possess, committee members will be meeting with campus constituencies. As part of that, members of the UCLA community are invited to attend virtual town halls with the committee on Nov. 8. The sessions will focus on the needs and interests of UCLA groups: students, staff, faculty and alumni. Your input is welcome and encouraged.
The schedule of virtual town hall sessions is below. Please be sure to register in advance to receive the Zoom information. Space is limited.

This is a pivotal moment in UCLA history. We hope you will take advantage of these opportunities to provide input that will inform the selection of the next chancellor.
Sincerely,
UC Office of the President
